VALFIX Medical Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Surindra N. Mitruka, MD, MBA, to its board of directors, effective immediately. Dr. Mitruka is a retired Cardiothoracic surgeon and active healthcare consultant, and entrepreneur with extensive medical and business experience.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Mitruka to VALFIX’s board of directors,” said Eli Bar, CEO and Chairman of the board. “His expertise and insights will be invaluable as we continue to advance our mission to transform open heart valve surgery technique into a transcatheter procedure.”
Dr. Mitruka has practiced adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery in the private sector, serving as the Director of three surgical programs and Heart Institutes in California. He has specialized in complex coronary revascularizations and minimally invasive valve surgery, and is widely published in his field. In addition, he has traveled extensively to lecture and demonstrate procedures for arrhythmia surgery and served as a KOL for Medtronic. Previously, he co-founded a medical device company that achieved a successful exit.
Since retiring from clinical medicine, Dr. Mitruka has focused on consulting and advising, as well as entrepreneurial and leadership roles in the healthcare industry.
